I’ve been buying and testing sex dolls for the past 5 years, so I know firsthand which brands are worth your money and which ones aren’t. If you’re looking to buy a sex doll, you’ve probably saved up, found a trustworthy vendor, and now you’re facing the challenge of picking the right doll from a reliable brand.
Here’s a list of the brands I know well. I’ll share everything I’ve learned so you don’t make the mistakes I did.
Note:
Although I’m still buying new dolls, I haven’t had much time to post reviews in the last year. If I don’t have a review I’ve done myself, I’ll refer you to trustworthy ones.
Another Thing to Watch Out For:
Many vendors advertise “in-stock” dolls at low prices, but they’re not always telling the truth. These dolls are often stored in rented warehouses by Chinese factories in the US or EU. While they may be authentic, they’re often cheaper because they were shipped by sea, saving on air shipping costs.
The problem is that these warehouses don’t get restocked often, and vendors don’t always tell you when a doll is sold out. You might buy a doll expecting it in a few days, only to find out it’s no longer in stock. The vendor then tells you it’ll arrive in 30 days, trapping you in a frustrating situation.
This warning applies to any brand using rented warehouses to offer quick delivery at a bargain price.
#1: Zelex SLE Dolls – In-stock Warning (See above)
Zelex takes the top spot this year with their new SLE series, released this spring. I was pleasantly surprised by these dolls. Initially, Zelex claimed they were made from a new type of TPE, but it turns out they’re actually made from a very soft type of silicone.
The skin is well-textured, resistant to scratches and stains, and not porous. This silicone is the softest I’ve experienced, and the models are very attractive, offered at a great price.
These dolls come with all the premium options by default: gel breasts, articulated fingers, soft butt, moving pupils, upgraded skeletons, and hard hands—all for the price of a TPE doll!
Downsides: They’re heavy and not customizable.
#2: WM Doll – In-stock Warning (See above)
WM Doll has slipped to #2 this year but remains a top brand. They’ve been around for a while and stand behind their products. Their dolls have durable skin and a sturdy, flexible skeleton. Their new S-TPE skin, which is softer and more resistant to damage, could put them back at #1 next year.
Downsides: The ultra-soft skin option is more fragile, and some older models have less accurate LHP (Love Hole Placement).
#3: Irontech Silicone Dolls
Irontech’s silicone dolls are the best I’ve encountered. The craftsmanship is fantastic with minimal seam lines, a quiet, easy-to-move skeleton, and realistic features like great-feeling breasts and a well-designed vagina.
Downsides: Incorrect LHP and heavy weight.
#4: AKdoll
AKdoll, a subsidiary of WM, only produces silicone dolls. They’ve taken their most successful TPE dolls and recreated them in silicone, with some enhancements like improved LHP.
Their skin is very soft and matte, making it hard to tell it’s silicone at first. However, they haven’t added skin texture for realism, which is a missed opportunity.
Upside: High-quality dolls from a reliable brand.
#5: SE Doll – In-stock Warning (See above)
Produced by the same company as WM, SE Doll has its own rules, such as offering articulated fingers only on dolls 151cm and taller. They offer beautiful, original models, and their new silicone series sounds promising.
#6: Funwest Dolls – In-stock Warning (See above)
Funwest is a new company, only about 2 years old, offering attractive, original models at a budget price. The skin might be a bit too firm for some, but the factory photos match the promotional ones, which is a big plus.
#7: Starpery – In-stock Warning (See above)
Starpery has jumped up in the rankings due to their latest release: a new flexible foam core and soft silicone skin, which could lead to lighter, softer dolls. Their previous models were realistic but had some issues like hard bodies and tiny, almost unusable orifices. They now offer a soft butt option, which is a must.
#8: Aibei – In-stock Warning (See above)
Aibei, about 3 years old, produces good-looking, original dolls at bargain prices. Their dolls are similar to WM’s TPE models but with a cheaper, less flexible neck.
Downside: Incorrect LHP and less durable skeleton.
#9: YL Doll – In-stock Warning (See above)
Produced by the same company as WM, YL Doll specializes in chubbier models with realistic labia. However, they’ve slipped in the rankings due to a lack of new, attractive models.
#10: 6YE
6YE is an established brand with durable skin and a flexible, sturdy skeleton. They offer almost perfect LHP on most models, but their regular fingers are floppy and of poor quality.
Recommendation: Oil their TPE skin even though they claim it doesn’t need it.
#11: Irontech TPE – In-stock Warning (See above)
Irontech offers good-quality dolls with durable skin, similar to 6YE. Their skeletons are sturdy, but the LHP is incorrect, making some positions difficult.
Downside: Less attractive models, but this is personal preference.
#12: Zelex & GameLady Dolls
Zelex and its sister company GameLady have made a splash with their realistic, gaming-themed dolls. However, they don’t look as realistic as Starpery dolls, and their finishing quality needs improvement. Big seams and firm skin are drawbacks, but they offer many free options and affordable prices.
#13: Piper TPE Dolls – In-stock Warning (See above)
Piper Dolls, made by Doll 4 Ever, offer extremely attractive models with seamless necks. The skin feels great initially but creases and cracks quickly if not oiled, despite their claims. Their EVO skeleton is flexible but loosens too fast, and they don’t offer articulated fingers.
Recommendation: Avoid their TPE dolls if you want long-lasting quality.
#14: Piper Silicone Dolls
Sadly, Piper’s big silicone dolls are a major disappointment. The anus and vagina crack quickly, and the company doesn’t stand behind their products. They even claimed the dolls were “built for display purposes” when a vendor complained about defects.
Warning: Avoid these if you’re looking for quality and durability.
Here’s a breakdown of what you need to know when choosing the best sex doll, based on my personal experiences and insights.
1. Material Matters: Silicone vs. TPE
- Silicone Dolls: My first doll was made of silicone, and I was impressed by its durability and realistic texture. Silicone holds up well over time, is easy to clean, and can withstand high temperatures—perfect if you’re looking for a long-term companion.
- TPE (Thermoplastic Elastomer) Dolls: Later, I tried TPE dolls, and I was amazed by how soft and lifelike they felt. TPE is more flexible than silicone, which adds to the realism, especially in the joints. However, TPE requires more maintenance and care, as it’s more porous and prone to staining.
My Take: If you’re after realism and don’t mind the extra care, TPE is the way to go. But if you prioritize durability and ease of cleaning, silicone is your best bet.
2. Customization Options: Making Her Truly Yours
- Body Shape and Size: The variety of body shapes available blew my mind. From petite to curvy, there’s something for everyone. I found that the right body type depends on personal preference, so think about what you’re truly attracted to.
- Facial Features: Customization here is incredible. You can choose everything from eye color to lip shape. My experience? Take your time choosing these details. A well-crafted face can make your doll feel like a real partner.
- Wig and Hair Options: Don’t underestimate the power of a good wig. Some dolls come with realistic, high-quality wigs that can change the entire look of your doll. I experimented with different styles and found that a simple change in hair can drastically alter the experience.
My Take: Invest in customization. The more you tailor the doll to your tastes, the more satisfying the experience will be.
3. Skeleton and Movement: The Feel of Realism
- Articulated Skeletons: The first time I interacted with a doll with an articulated skeleton, I was floored. These allow for realistic poses and movement, which can enhance the experience dramatically. The ability to bend, twist, and position the doll adds a layer of realism that’s hard to beat.
- Weight Considerations: One thing I didn’t anticipate was the weight. High-quality dolls are often quite heavy, which adds to the realism but can be a challenge when moving or positioning them. I learned quickly to be mindful of this, especially in smaller spaces.
My Take: An articulated skeleton is a must for a realistic experience. However, be prepared for the weight—plan where and how you’ll move your doll around.
4. Maintenance and Care: Keeping Your Doll in Top Shape
- Cleaning: I can’t stress enough how important regular cleaning is. Both silicone and TPE require specific cleaning routines to prevent damage and maintain hygiene. I found that investing in a good cleaning kit made the process easier.
- Storage: Proper storage is crucial. I learned this the hard way—incorrect storage can lead to creases or damage over time. Always store your doll in a neutral position, and if possible, use a storage hanger to avoid pressure points.
- Repairs: Over time, wear and tear are inevitable. Having a repair kit on hand can save your investment. I had to perform a few minor repairs myself, and with the right tools, it was easier than I expected.
My Take: Maintenance is key. Don’t neglect it if you want your doll to last. And always have a repair kit ready for small fixes.
5. Price vs. Quality: Getting What You Pay For
- Budget Dolls: I experimented with a lower-cost option once and quickly realized that you get what you pay for. The material felt cheap, the joints were stiff, and it just didn’t compare to higher-end models.
- Mid to High-End Dolls: Spending more upfront really does translate into a better experience. The attention to detail, quality of materials, and overall realism are unmatched in higher-end models. I found that these dolls were worth every penny.
My Take: If budget allows, invest in a higher-quality doll. The experience will be far superior, and the doll will last much longer.
Conclusion: The Best Doll for You
In my journey, I discovered that the best sex doll is highly subjective—it depends on your preferences, how much effort you’re willing to put into maintenance, and how much you’re willing to invest.
For me, a high-quality TPE doll with a fully articulated skeleton and customized features offered the best experience. But remember, it’s all about what feels right for you. Take your time, do your research, and don’t rush into a purchase. The right doll can be a game-changer, but only if you choose wisely.
This year brought some exciting developments, especially with new types of skin. My list only includes brands I’ve personally used, so you can trust the information. Unlike many other reviewers who might not know much about the industry, I base my reviews on real experience.
